Dynamic Pricing Application:
The client was a mid-sized retail chain that wanted to (relatively)
more dynamically price items to manage inventory turnover and thus indirectly
maximize profit. The key technology challeneges were data loading of
transactions information, scaling up and validating client's proprietary
pricing model to handle the size, providing analyst friendly interface
to help drive the analysis and then generating pricing files for communication
with the store. Technology involved was Oracle Database server (v8)
and Microsoft ASP/.Net technology on the middle-tier. All user interaction
happened through a browser based application.
Marketing Campaign Management:
The client was a large specialized publication house and wanted to make
their marketing managers more productive and to monitor the effectiveness
of campaigns. One of our principals led the development of this application
- right from needs analysis, development and deployment. The overall
application was a web-application that integrated with a multi-dimensional
OLAP database. Among others, the application helped users create budgets
and track costs and response rates and identify target customer lists.
Online Community to help in knowledge
building:
Using an auction-like business process, this client wanted to foster
knowledge sharing amongst its employees. The solution was a web-application
where users could pose questions and other users could offer to answer
the questions. The questioner 'pays' for the answer through virtual
points that eventually translated into (non-monetary) awards and recognitions.
Web-based business-to-business store:
A medium sized manufacturing client wanted to provide online transaction
capabilities to its business customers. We developed a web application
that integrated with their inventory management module and order management
module of Oracle Applications. We supplemented the inventory module
through a web-based catalog so the buyers could get better description
of items.
